You’ve found us. Whether by intention or by happy accident, you’ve tumbled into something that doesn’t quite behave like other restaurants.
Here, a hundred paused clocks line the walls. Playing cards drift overhead. Towers of games climb toward the ceiling in boxes of every shape and colour. And the food, which arrives with none of Wonderland’s nonsense but all of its ambition, is very real indeed.
Our cocktail bar stocks 52 house recipes, because one for each card in the deck seemed only reasonable.
Lobster twelve ways. Oysters on the half shell. Chowder so abundant it borders on philosophical. Our menu reads like a love letter to the Northumberland Strait, refined over years and served with the seriousness it deserves.
Our world-famous chowder reflects our geography with precision. Lobster, shrimp, scallops, and quahogs in a light cream broth, served with bread, basmati rice, and a green salad. This is the dish that strangers write to us about months later.

Private rooms for intimate conspiracies of four. A full dining room for celebrations of forty-five. Corporate retreats that your team will actually remember. We have spaces named The Dark Room, The Colour Block Room, and The Tearoom, because every gathering deserves a setting that matches its character.

Along the walls of Le Moque-Tortue, boxes of every shape and colour are stacked from floor to ceiling: one of the largest collection of board games available for play in Canada. There’s over two thousand titles, curated by someone who believes play’s a serious business.
Card games. Dice games. Wargames. Tile-based games. Solitaires. Puzzles. Euros that reward patience. Two-player abstracts that reward cunning. Contraption games that reward a tolerance for delightful chaos. Push-your-lucks. Speed games. Trivia. Party games that have turned strangers into co-conspirators.
If you don’t know what to play, ask! Our staff knows this collection the way a librarian knows the stacks: with affection and strong opinions.
Le Moque-Tortue is the chapter where the clocks stop, the games come out, and nobody remembers what time they were supposed to leave.
